Chapter One
"Princess Cecilia!!! Wake up!!!!" shouted my servant, Anna.
"Ugh." I groaned, putting my pillow over my head, trying to fall back asleep. But it was no use. Once Anna wakes me up, then I'm awake.
"I'll get you your clothes for today." said Anna, rushing off to my big closet. She came back and had a silver dress in her hand and matching heels in the other. Then she said, "Turn around!"
"I'm nineteen, Anna! I can dress myself!" I argued. I looked like I was about to throw a fit like a two year old.
Five (very long) minutes later, I was walking off to the Throne Room, where my mother was laying down on her throne, covered with blankets. She was suffering from a severe case of lung cancer, which killed my father and my older sister, Janine.
"Ah, there you are, Cecilia." said my mom in a croaky voice. "My passing will be soon. When I pass, you will be the ruler of the kingdom."
"Oh, Mother." I said. "Don't say that you will die. You will not. I promise."
"Oh, Cecilia." said Mother. "You are one of the sweetest daughters eve-" Then she went out.
"Mother?" I asked. She did not respond. Tears rolled down my cheeks as I called for Anna.
"Honey.. it'll be OK." Anna said in a soothing voice, hugging me. I broke out of the hug, ran up to my room (and almost tripped on a bump in the rug), slammed and locked the door, and flopped onto my bed, sobbing.
Chapter Two
I must have fallen asleep or something, because the next thing I knew, Anna was knocking on my door, begging to let her in. I slowly got out of bed and unlocked the door. I opened the door just a little bit and I peeked my head out.
"What do you want?" I said grumpily.
"Honey, I feel your pain. I went through the same thing when I was 10.My mom died of a rare disease called Szorpia. I was sad and angry, but I got over it. And you will too." Said Anna. "Well, you will be queen."
"That is true." I said, tapping my chin thoughtfully. Being queen would be nice. "OK."
"Awesome. Because of the pain you're going though, you are exempt from your royal duties." said Anna. Then she left.
Chapter Three
A few months later, i was queen. It is such a hard job being a queen. I had more duties than I ever had before, and I had to go to all these balls. Then some bad news came.
"Queen! There is an intruder in the palace! You need to lock yourself in your room before she kills you! He has a knife and a gun and everything! Once the guards catch her, you will give her a trial and execution. Go now! Go to your room now!!!" shouted Anna. I did what I was told. I locked myself in my room and I dove under the bed sheets under my bed. I thought I was safe.
The intruder came into my room (using her knife to cut the door open) and spoke in a soft voice.
"Let me stay here for a few days, OK? I won't hurt you. A queen would do that, right?" she said. I sighed and agreed.
"Hide under that chair and I'll cover you up with blankets so no one will see you." I sad. Then I got a blanket and covered her up. Then Anna came into the room.
"Queen, we have not caught the intruder yet, but our guards will work twenty-four seven to try and catch her." she said. "Now get some rest. Goodnight." Then she walked off. I got on my nightgown and fell asleep, hoping tomorrow would be a good day.
Chapter Four
I didn't know that Szorpia could spread in the middle of the night. Now I do.
This morning, I wasn't feeling well. When Anna came in my room and told me that it was time to get up (even though the sun wasn't out yet!), I told her I wasn't feeling well. Anna called the royal doctor, Dr. Yang, up to my room to check on me.
Then the doctor checked on me. He gave me a diagnosis. Anna gasped and fanned herself with her fan. I just lay down with my eyes closed, thinking about what happened to Anna's mother. She died of Szorpia, I thought, so i may die too! Then I screamed "NOOOOO!!!" since I may die.
"Szorpia can leave people dead in a few hours, a day at most." said the doctor. He turned to Anna. "Anna, please keep an eye on her the whole day, and if you see any suspicious activity occurring with her health, please call me and I will come up."
Then the doctor left, and Anna rushed off to get me some pillows and blankets.
Chapter Five
An hour later, I was propped up on pillows and covered with blankets. I had a bunch of "Get Well Soon!" cards from the villagers, and they were allowed to visit me, but just for five minutes, per family.
After all the guests- and Anna included- left, the intruder came out from under the chair and giggled.
"What are you laughing for?" I asked in a hoarse, croaky voice.
"YOU!" said the intruder. "I gave you Szorpia!!"
"WHAT???!!!" I said as loud as I could. "ANNA!!!!!" I yelled. Anna came in my room and saw the intruder. She called the guards up, while the intruder ran for her life.
I fidgeted around in my bed. Anna turned to see the racket that was going on (which was me).
Then everything went black for a second. I thought I died.
But I didn't.
Five minutes later, everything was brighter. I opened my eyes and saw Anna crying on my lap. "She was a good queen. Oh, Lord, please bring her to Heaven." she sobbed.
"Anna, you can stop now. I'm not dead." I said.
She sniffled. "I can hear her voice from Heaven!" She said.
"Anna... ANNA! I'm ALIVE!" I screeched.
"You are?" she said. Then she turned to me. "Queen Cecilia! You're alive!"
"I've been trying to tell you that for the past two and a half minutes." I said. "But still. At least I'm alive." Anna hugged me and trotted of to find a box of tissues.
Chapter Six
A few days after Szorpia almost killed me, I made myself a goal to stay away for anyone who has Szorpia, especially the intruder, but I didn't have to worry about her no more. She was executed and had a trial, and I found her guilty of.... um... I forget. But she got the "Queen of Hearts" treatment... off with her head!
THE END!
